I have started a few projects since getting back into things. While waiting for some paint to dry on the diorama I switched to the machine guner. I've only have a few more things to do and it will be the first I have finished in awhile. :-) The wash is going to be the scariest part as that is something I haven't attempted yet. And the eyes are always a kicker for me.

Looks like it coming along very nicely danny.
I noticed you left the face for the last. Thats the part of figure painting that im still very much lacking in terms of skill so i'd be looking forward to seeing how you do it.

Thanks!
The facial area have been a bit of a bugger for me. But I will plug away at it. And hopefully it won't look like a zombie or frankenstien after it is done. :-)
The Ground cover is blended turf for train detailing. The rock was molded with lightweight Hydrocal. The Plant/weed is from Wal-mart. And the snow is white glue, water, baking soda mix.

Well, I think I have actually finished something!
I used the gloss acrylic clear coat I found at wally eorld as the base for the wash. This was my first attempt at a wash, so I was skeptical on the outcome. I used burnt sienna for the wash. I am thinking maybe I should have went a little darker. But I did notice that it darkened up with the dullcote final coat. I just used the wash to highlight the facial features. After it dried I knocked the majority of it down with the Q-tip.
For the mud on the bottom edge of the Jacket and the boots I used the mud weathering stick from Tamiya. I was impressed with it as that was a first I had used that too. Overall I am pleased with it. It probably isn't a show stopper, but a good start for the display.

Great model - love the base. There is a good "frozen steppe" feeling over it.

Ah very nice, love the muddy boots! (In my opinion you might want to throw some debris on that snow, it looks a bit too "clean".) Other than that brilliant job!!
