Hi folks!
After being absent for more than a while, and being quite surprised about the developments and progress in Armorama, I give it another try!
I am currently working on some artillery stuff, but only the 122mm Russian field gun 1938 got finished so far.
This is the 1/35 Italeri/Zvezda kit, with some improvements
The beams were suffering from heavy sink marks and I was lucky to discover, that there were welded versions too. So I could avoid adding rivets.
There are a lot of other additional improvements, which seem to be "peanuts" compared to the stuff from Alan and Verlinden which is waiting on my shelves.
Regards from Vienna, Werner

That really is one hell of an impressive build. You really have reworked the donor kit a lot - with impressive results. Thanks for sharing that!

Thank you Jim!
Will continue on the towing machine, a SKODA Radschlepper OST
und display it here too. But have to rework the whole cargo bay first...
Thus I will show some other fellows in between..

Werner,
Absolutely terrific work!! I love the attention to detail - all the evenly spaced rivets and tiny handgrabs! What did you use for referecne on this project?
Again, super job!

i'll definitely echo Mike's question about the reference sources you used.
Did you document the entire build by any chance?

Werner,
Looks good so far. It's going to be a real beauty when finished. Keep us posted!

Hi all!
many thanks for the warm welcome!
I don't have the construction documented in particular. My photo equipment is not that sophisticated to allow real closeups, so the details you see here is the best result I can achieve. Tried to make some more intermediate and close-up pictures of a sIG 33, but I was not content. Have to check out for a pivot!
I used WWP - Wings & Wheels Publications, issue 25, Red Line Series
WW II German and Soviet Field Howitzers in detail for reference. It deals on the one hand with the German 10,5cm leFH18/40 and on the other hand with the Russian 12,2cm M30 howitzer. But although it is assured that the howitzer is in WWII configuration, it has some minor postwar alterations on the gun barrel. I discovered this by cross checking with a German Waffen-Arsenal about Russian Artillery in German use.
I do not know if it is allowed here to add a link to foreign sites, thus I omit a reference to WWP.
Regards, Werner

Of course it's permitted - WWP have some absolutely superb publications which more people should be aware of!
