Hi All , I've just bought the Hobbyfan Lynx and then realised the only photos i've seen are in M113 squadron / signal and osprey M113 in action , so i would be grateful for any info or images that anyone knows of. I'm really after any peacekeeping or exercise photos & unit markings & names .Cheers Pat

ahh Pat, a man after my own heart... I drove the Lynx when I was a young lad and love that little beast, heres my take, but I scratchbuilt this one.
Exercise/Peacekeeping pics may float around but I haven't seen many. A book called "the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps" has some shots of Lynx' in Cyprus and on ex. The Concord book "M113 in the 90's" has some pics as well.
The best static references came from Prime Portal.
HTH, let me know if I may be of more service.
Regards
Peter

Take a look at the walkaround here:
http://s87.photobucket.com/albums/k130/ldshrecceboy/LYNX%20%20Walk%20Around/
It's a restored Lynx with the Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians). The markings are 100% accurate.
I would recommend picking up the Osprey "Modelling the M113 Series" by Graeme Davidson...aka Stormfront on Armorama.
There are issues with the inaccuracy of the front fenders of the Hobby Fan kit and Graeme fully addresses and corrects it.
Also, check out Mark Stares' Canadian UN Lynx:

More info here:

and here:

That should take care of you for walkaround images.

Pat,
I've found 2 BW pictures and a color picture in Fahrzeug Profile #6 Das waren die kanadischen Streitfräfte in Europe.
1. Recon Squadron 4, Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group at Hohenfels in June of 1985. 3 color NATO camo with 13B painted on the side and a black maple leaf inline with the front lifting hook.
2. Another 3 color camo with yellow number plate during Reforger '88
3. Royal Canadian Dragoons Reforger '79 with whitewash camo
Also Concord's M-113 in the 1990's has two good color pictures.
1. 3 color camo, Reg# 35828 with 69 painted on sides and rear during Royal Sword 90
2. Similar vehicle, 62C with PVS night sight mounted alongside the .50 mg.

Just remember the three colour camouflage is not the standard NATO three colour camouflage. The only colour the similar was the black.
There is no NATO brown or NATO green used and the two greens have Canadian codes...503-319 and 503-321....they are a sort of olive greenish and olive drabish.
The Canadian UN Lynxs used in Cyprus could be seen early in the three colour cam with the white patches with UN markings and later all white with UN markings.
When the Canadian Lynx was retired some were sold to I believe a Dutch scrap metal dealer...some of these ended up being illegally sold to Iran...there are images of them being used in Iran by internal security forces and they were repainted desert tan.

Doh. I guess I should have visited Armored Acorn for the color chart. I'll plead ignorance since all the vehicles in the color pictures were dirty.
