I am very excited...took me a long while to build this kit...finally got the indi link track done......

Hopefully I can complete the rest of assembly within the next few weeks and start to add some paint to it.

BTW, I am having looking at some picture of M4A1 but could not reach conclusion..one questions...in a real M4A1, are there a distinct mould line separating the the turret as shown the pictures or should I put some putty and sand the line down a bit ?

Anyone ?

Nice and clean!
As for the turret line, I would remove it, but I would also listen to some more experienced sherman modeler!

Hi Mike,

Can't say if the cast mark should be there or not, I'll have to check some pics. Nice looking build though, I have this one to look forward too.

Great work, are you going to finish it as a US or Commonwealth vehicle? The polish had quite a few of these.

Cheers

Yes it should be there. Take a look at Tanxheaven and some other shermans on the Web . Sometimes it's very pronounced and sometimes very subtle.I would go over the mould line with liquid cement or mr surfacer to get the textured effect
I don't have a DML Turret near at hand but the back of the turret has some funny mould lines that need attention IIRC.

All,

Thanks for the link...I almost forgot about the Tanxheaven site....
Good picture and good reference.

Most likely it will become a commonwealth vehicle...and I will try to add some texture to the mould line ...

Cheers....

Clean construction all around. The work on the tracks in particular, you've captured the "live track" look perfectly, not always an easy thing to do with indys.

Gday Mike
I echo what others have said; that is a nice build!
Have you embarked on building the horn guard yet? Fiddy !@#$... :-)

The rear hull lifting rings you have in position, are they the right ones? I think I replaced mine as they look a little short to me, but hey, that is probably why I replaced them to begin with
I discovered that the rear tracklink holders on the rear plate should have each side blanked off where there is the two small gaps showing...
Looking forward to progress
Cheers

Nice cleanly built model. The tracks are very well done. Don't forget to fill in the seam where the bolt strip joins to the transmission.
