Hello,

This is my first post on the forum!
I have bought the Kettenkrad Kit from ESCI/dragon 4 or 5 years ago and now I thought it was time to build it.
But I can see many problems, so I thought if I posted something, I might be able to get some constructive comments and some help. Maybe someone out there have experience with this kit??

As you can see, there are lots of parts, but they are pretty big..

Unfortunetely there are lots of flash and shrinkmarks - just look at the track parts; 3 small injectormarks on each track!!..timeconsuming to say the least..

And 42 links on each side, sigh.....

I love the figure, the gebirgsjäger - he is big but he looks like a nice enough fella...Andreas from Kettenkrad.de says that he is too big. If on scale he should be 1.90 m - as I said, big fella..
I was trying to find out how to paint his uniform. Looked amongst other in Beaver and Borsarellos "Camoflage uniform of the Waffen-ss" (not that I wanted him to be SS), where there is a comparative section. On page 273, bottom right, there is a anorak in camoflage, and even water pattern...but imagine the paintwork...I think I will choose a normal one-color anorak..

And just look at the wheels, so much fillerwork and sanding on the spokes - they are supposed to be smooth...

Well, enough of my complaining.
I would like to know if anyone have expirience with this kit? Do I need to correct anything major?

Looking forward to hear from you..

sincerly,

Yep--- big kit--- big sink marks.
And a few big gaps in places.
But it certainly is impressive when finished.
Good luck, and keep posting your progress.

Yeah, a lot of work on that one but I am sure it will be worth the efect in the end. A really impressive model.

I think a soldier could easily be 1,90 meters tall. I do not know why anybody sees a problem in that.

Go for a camouflage anorak! Now you got a big figure to get the pattern just right on.

Held og lykke med projektet.

Thanks for sharing and keep us updated
