Hi all.. just thought I'd post somethine so eveyone would know I was still around.. I've been fairly busy of late since I just started a new job, and havn't had much time to invest in building. But I still give this site a quick read at least every other night, and try to get in some hobby time.
anyways here are a couple of pictures of my firefly in progress.

Good to see you're still around and building Del
Looks good, what do you intend for this eventually? A dio? A smal base? or just on the shelf?
Doing any PE on it?
Anyway, keep the updates coming.

Hi Delbert. I supose itīs the Dragonīs Firefly. Very clean job. Iīve built it last year and love to have it in my collection. The terrible thing with this kit are the tracks. I spent three weeks in them. Whwn finished they look very good, but they are a nightmare.
When you finish the kit hope you send some images for the Sherman gallery.

Hi all,
This is a Sherman Vc Firefly By Dragon Kit #6121.
It is my understanding that this is the 2nd release of this kit by them and it corrects many problems their first one had. There are prob about 100 extra parts in the kit, most of the extra seem to be road wheels and such. as this is one of the problems they corrected.
The fit of the hull and turrent is fairly nice although its not exact, and I had to use a little liquad weld to fill in some small gaps. Overall the detail is quite nice and crisp.
The tracks are indi links and are going to take forever as each one has a sinkhole to sand and there are about 570 peices for the track.
I plan to use this for my first dio. I'm thinking a simple one with a small base, maybe on a dirt road with small hedgerows on each side and some british troops in front of and behind the tank... as a further detail maybe a german anti-tank team hiding behind a hedgerow further up. only time will tell what will happen. if I go with this idea i might call the dio .."Vigilance"

Delster:
Good to hear from you again, as you are missed in the chat room .
Nice looking build so far. Based on your other work, this Firefly will be another great looking model when you're done. Thank goodness your sticking to models that are OD (you know who that was directed to! .
This is looking good, keep up your great modeling work, congrats on the new job, and hope to see ya in the chat.

Actually this one isn't going to be an OD color.. I've kinda had enough of that with the M8 armored car for now. The color on this one is kind of my own mix, Its base is Model Master's Field green, but i've mixed some other paint in it to kind of get a color that sorta resembles the british kacki greenish color they used when they repainted some of the shermans. It prob won't be exact but I think the color i've mixed has promise. anyways We will See........
