Well here's my second tank, and my first attempt at airbrushing. It's a DML Panther A early with a winter whitewash over Dunkelgelb. The whitewash is wearing out, and the Dunkelgelb is gradually showing through the higher areas. The blackened areas are supposed to represent an accumulation of dirt and soot. It may be a bit heavy now, but I will airbrush some flat earth in the areas close to the tracks, apply washes and drybursh.
Unfortunately, I for got to put my tools on the tank! Oh well, I can weather those later. There's still a long way to go! Time to work on the running gear and tracks!

Keep it up, and keep showing us the pics.

Great looking tank laddy. And a well done spray job there. are you going to put it into a dio??? I sure would love to see that. A nice winter scene with this mighty beast in it would be very cool

You did a fantastic job on this one. Post more pics when your done. I'm sure we would all love to see this girl with her full suspension, markings, and weathering. I also believe you have a good grip on the airbrushing.

Looks great Richard! I am attempting something similar with my Jumbo Sherman right now, except the winter wash will appear a bit more solid. What airbrush are you using?

Thanks guys for the kind words. You're a very encouraging bunch
Favor: Airbrushing is fun! You should definately try it out as well. THere's no way I could have done this like a brush. Took some getting used to though
Faust: I would love to do a diorama sometime, but I'm pushing my skills to the limit already. Perhaps I'll build a diorama later on and add this finished piece later.
Jackhammer: I'm trying to take pictures as I go on this project. I have some step by step progress shots on the Armorama MSN group at http://groups.msn.com/armorama/sharpesfirstairbrushedmodel.msnw. Sorry, some of the pictures aren't so great.
Desert-Fox: Special thanks to the man! DF was kind enough to donate this Badger 200 for my little hobby and I am eternally greatful. C heers mate!
I'll keep the updates coming

Damn nice airbrushing Rich, I like that shading technique you used and I plan to try to do the same on the Jagdpanther.
Excellent!

It came just in time! I couldn't even figure out how to do washes or drybrush... hadn't even used a spray can before the last model! It's not turning out exactly as I had planned, but I'm quite happy with it.
I was originally trying to do a more faded look but like Chris Leeman's Panther in his article at Missing-Lynx. http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/german/clwinter/clwinter.htm

Rich
Wow--- your first air brush attempt?---this Panther looks great---nice photo work also. Can't wait to see more.
As the newest member of the Sty, you are certainly getting yourself in good with Da Hong Kong Man, and Pakish (both German armor fanatics).
Make sure and try something OD down the road
This looks just great Rich--keep it up!

Heheh. I certainly am predisposed to German armour I don't know why. I'm sure I'll eventually break down and do a Sherman or something. My girlfriend thinks Sherman's are "cute". Not "mean", "cool", "awesome", or even "neat". I'm sure that's exactly what tank designers had in mind when they build one of those things. "Cute"
Thanks eagle... although the airbrushing is pretty broad. I still haven't figured out how to do fine lines.
