Last week a group of us toured the US Army Ordnance museum at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. You couldn't have asked for a nicer day, and after a morning of touring all the tanks on ground, we got a private tour from Dr. William Atwater, the Museum's curator, and "famous face" on the History Channel. He had some GREAT stories about the artifacts in the museum. I took some shots of their T-34, only to find out today that it is the oldest existing T-34! (according to the Osprey New Vanguard book) If I had known that, I would have taken more shots! I guess I will have to go back again soon, The museum is only about 2 hours from the house.
Here she is:
Can someone translate the turret?
There are 5 more shots here:

I think my next model might have to be a T-34....

Could be the oldest. Hard to say. Oldest in US for sure. there are a couple similar in Eastern Europe. In much worse shape. Who knows which one is technically the oldest. Here I posted 1 couple of hundred more pics:

The slogan on the turret is "For Motherland!" (За Родину! - Za Rodinu!)
