Dragon and the Priest

Not another new fantasy novel, but another exciting announcement from Dragon, a Priest, and not the type you pray too.

Building on the sucess of the Mid production M7 Priest, Dragon has announced the upcoming release of the Early production M7 Priest in 1/35 scale. Dragon is stating there will be upgrades to the some of the molding and an aluminum barrel with rifling. This should be a welcome addition for self propelled gun fans.

This new kit is scheduled for release in May 2012.

I want this kit. Lots of photos of the early version on Leyte and Luzon. Bill, I would think the early type were used by the Marines as they were readily available from Army stocks.

Russ The only thing we have to watch is that a lot of the earlier versions were upgraded to later standards. A classic example is "All American", one of the choices for the current mid-production kit, which according to DML, had spoked road wheels, top mounted return rollers, and T49 tracks, all of which would be corrcet for a mid-production vehicle. However, photos of "All American" show solid road wheels, T51 tracks and upswept trailing return rollers! The body, however, is still the early/mid version. Regards Rob

Looks like their other kit, but with just different tracks and you leave off the side plating by the ammo.

...and the owner said "What is this? Some kinda joke?" I'll be interested to see what comes in the box. If they just add new parts (like the new hull side with shallow pulpit, or the toolboxes) and keep all the "mid" stuff too that'd be great. These Sherman-based machines were prone to ad-hoc upgrades and "mix & match" with newer parts, so the more the merrier! Tom
