The Corrected turret has been included in all releases since the British version and is now also included in the original release.

This is NOT just a markings change... The biggest change is the front lower hull is a new casting that includes the floatation plates. The initial kit only allowed you to build one of the first ~1800 Chaffees. This kit will allow you to build a later vehicle.

All Chaffees were built during WWII. This is simply a later vehicle. You couldn't do this version as one during the Bulge, but it would be fine for a later tank. Plenty of pictures online of WWII Chaffees with the front floatation pads, and the cast antenna mount on the left side of the turret.

Does anybody have any experience of building early Bronco kits versus their latest releases? Ive only built 2 early Bronco kits ... The Hotchkiss H39 and the Comet. I wasn´t blown away by either kit ... rubbery plastic, un-necessary small details, poor fit, soft and/or missing detail, etc, etc. Im asking those that have built any of the early kits as well as some of the latest ... and what they think about recent build quality. Have they improved any?

Bronco's newer releases have been excellent. Their M1114s, M1A1/M114 howitzers, GAZ-69, and others are really nice; finely detailed, full of extra features, etc. I highly recommend them. I am more excited about the jeep. It is listed as a GPW, which is the Ford version of the jeep. It is the first time the GPW has been kitted in plastic. The GPW wasn't that much different, but it did have some different features. The most noticable was the front frame cross-member under the grill. On the Willys MB, a tubular piece is used, while an inverted "U" is used on the GPW. Also, Ford instituted the familiar stamped grill that was also adopted by Willys. The other noticable difference is on the lids for the toolboxes located on either side of the rear seat. The Willys MB uses a plain flat cover whereas the Ford GPW has an embossed lid. It looks like Bronco captured all these features in their CAD flyer. Hopefully, the model will have them all as well.

Frank, the only Bronco kit I've built is the initial Chaffee. That said, of you list of criticisms, the only one that still applies in my opinion is the unnecessarily small bits. But I've found the plastic to be nice to work with, the fit has been excellent, even in some very hard-to-engineer places such at butt joints and whatnot. If anything, the fidelity of detail does hurt some of the build-ability of the kits, but if you want detail, Bronco has you covered. And at least with the Chaffee, I've done a fair bit of research, have 6 or 7 references, and the Bronco kit is really really good.
