Rinaldi Studio Press owner Michael Rinaldi has contacted Armorama with an update on the release of his first in a series of books called TANKART Vol. 1 WWII German Armour. Due to various changes that have occurred the release of this product was put back, but those situations have now been resolved. Inside you will find all the details on the release of this book.
Rinaldi Studio Press are pleased to announce that we have set a shipping date for TANKART Vol. 1 WWII German Armour with the first books leaving our printer on January 18, 2013. The week of Jan. 21-24 will see the majority of prepaid orders sent out as the books go from the printer to our mailing house to your house.

Please note that due to the shipping variables of reaching the many different locations around the world, shipping will take anywhere from 1-2 weeks to arrive. Those customers that requested signed copies will see an additional time of approx. 5-7 days added to this estimate.

Looking ahead, Vol. 2 WWII Allied Armour is well past the halfway point of layout production and will be the first book created with our new schedule. We are working towards producing a new title approximately every 3 months. I will make the Vol. 2 pre-order announcement once the files go to the printer, to avoid the long delays between taking orders and delivery.

You have our sincere apologies for the extended timeframe it took to produce Vol. 1, but with the systems in place we are eyes forward and intent on making 2013 a banner year for the TANKART series and RSP.

We wish you a great start to your year, and as always happy modelling!

Hi guys - The printer sent over some extra cover sheets hot off the press, and I couldn't resist making a quick mock-up. Please excuse my shoddy paper cutting and folding skills, not my forte apparently! The printer will do a much better job of it, of course. The book is only a few days away from shipping now... Cool. That 1/48 Panther on the cover is one of my top 5 or so most aesthetic and inspirational builds (seriously, I scanned the article photo and it's blown up and hanging over my workbench along with Marcus Nicholls' Type 89 and JS-2 and a couple of others), so I look forward to more. So feel free to ship it ASAP! Matt

Lol, that is awesome Matt... I'm actually going to frame some of my press sheets here at home. I think they look cool with all the printer marks on them. The Panther is actually the older 1/35 Tamiya kit heavily updated by my friend that was sent my way for the paintjob. That one took a looong time, probably of the most complicated I've attempted next to the D9 Dozer (multiple layers of paint over HS for the chipping, etc.). Best, Mike LINK LINK

Hi guys - Just a quick announcement, a repeat of what I've posted on our Facebook page today. I'll make a new formal and more detailed announcement on Monday as well. We are officially in-stock! The books have been delivered to our fulfillment mailing house, and all the dealer and pre-order customers are having their orders prepped for shipment, some will go out late today in fact. We are actually waiting on our box order to arrive to send the individual orders out in (like an Amazon book box), and it's put us a day or so behind where we thought we'd be today. The bulk of the back orders will be shipping on Monday morning (unfortunately, they do not ship on the weekends), as well as all new orders will start shipping next week after we've filled the back orders. It will go fast now that we have the books in hand. Paid customers, expect your shipping notices via email on Monday/Tuesday. Also you can scroll through a lot of cool updates on our Facebook page, even if not a member, click the link under my sig to check it out. I have teasers on Vol. 2 WWII Allied Armor as well. Very professional layout! You should be proud of this, you managed to overcome these hard times and publish what looks to be an amazing book. I really am not into WW2 armor, but all the fine-points of your book is making me want to buy it. BTW, do you have any ideas on producing something similar on modern armor? Cheers, Mario PS, I've been trying to find your SBS on assembling Friuls and using Blacken-it. The website I had bookmarked is no longer in use. Sorry for going off topic here.

Thank you Mario, that is most kind of you to say such a comment. It is much appreciated after the long gestation period and endless hurdles revolving around starting a new business and getting this first volume printed. It went down to the wire this week... Modern armor is coming soon. I have 8 TANKART books planned over the next 12-18 months, Vol. 3 and 6 are Modern, with the first one scheduled for a June 2013 release. The order is planned as German, Allied and Modern (and repeats for the first 6 books), and they will all use the same format and cover style throughout. I posted a T-72BM model teaser on our Facebook page last week, so please check it out. I'll be painting it next month. Regarding the Friuls, send me an email to [email protected] and I'll get you some info on the processes I use. I'll be creating a new technique chapter on weathering metal tracks for the books, to illustrate the various ways to handle them, including using Blacken-it and the newer AK/Uschi formula as well. Thanks for the answer Mike. Hope the book will be a big hit and a great boost to you to finish the next volumes in the same professional way... BTW, you have an email. Mario
