Manta Figurines has informed Armorama of a new figure in their range which is of a U.S. 82nd Airborne Paratrooper.
Manta Figurines may not have a huge selection of figures in 1/35th scale but don’t let that put you off taking a closer look. This time around Manta Figurines is tempting us with a U.S. 82nd Airborne. Paratrooper, Sainte-Mère-Eglise, Normandie, June 6th 1944. Now while this figure is identified for a certain place and time I see no reason why it couldn’t be used in a number of settings and speaking for myself I particularly like the detail on the helmet.

Stunning amount of detailing. What makes this figure particular to the 82nd and not also the 101st?

Indeed a lovely figure. Nemrod had some "similar" type figures many years ago .... these would go great together.

Bill and Darren, Not much difference except for the 101st tended to wear alot of scrim attached to their helmets (82nd Troopers did too, just not as much) but images I have in Histoire Collections D-DAY PARATROOPERS book shows the scrim standard to alot of 101st helmets for the Normandy jump. I notice on this figure that the right arm has the molded/ raised area for the US flag. This again was standard for alot of 82nd troopers and not the 101st...in saying that, just shave of the raised flag section, add a bit of scrim with green stuff and he's a 101st trooper..!!!
