Airfix announce their 1975 Sd.Kfz 250/3, aka Rommel's Half Track, is back in production and now available.
Listed on the Airfix website as one of their "Classic Kits", and first released in 1975, the well-known 1/32 scale kit of the Sd.Kfz 250/3, billed on the box as "Rommel's Half Track", is back. Yes, Airfix have got the moulds for this kit back into production and are retailing it for Ģ19.99 in the UK.
The description "This kit comes with a model figure of the General himself, his driver and his observer" suggests that the plastic parts in the box will be identical even down to the notoriously overweight rendition of Rommel. We may speculate that the decals provided may differ from those with the original release since the illustrations seem to show two vehicles both in desert schemes, whereas the "old" kit provided a pair of Grossdeutschland insignia for an alternative Eastern Front scheme. It remains to be seen whether the tracks will be the same as before.
