Hataka has attracted a lot of attention with their paint sets aimed at various aircraft types and periods and have now announced a new paint set for the armour modeller. On this occasion it is the Modern French Army that has attracted their attention.
HTK-AS25 “Modern French Army paint set”
From the beginning of 1950s French Army vehicles were painted in "Army Green", with exception of those stationed in desert regions, which used "Sahara Yellow" instead. This standard remained until early 1990s, when instruction MAT 2636 introduced an obligatory tri-colour camouflage of Dark Green, Earth Brown and Black. The instruction also sanctioned a special scheme for desert conditions of Desert Sand and Earth Brown (used for example during Operation Daguet in Iraq in 1991) and a variant for winter conditions of White and Earth Brown.
HTK-AS25 contains selection of six colours, covering all major camouflage variants of French Army AFVs. The set contains:
• HTK-A121 - Jaune Sahara - Standard overall colourof French Army vehicles stationed in desert regions in 1950s-60s, also during Suez Canal Crisis in 1956
• HTK-A122 - Vert IR OTAN - Earlier "army green" and "army green IR". Standard overall colour of French Army vehicles from the beginning of 1950s till late 1980s
