For those modellers who like to add grass groundwork easily and quickly Phoenix Models have released grass matting. This grass mat is designed for use with more than one scale and so may be just what you need for your diorama.

This grass mat measures 350mm x 320mm and I like that it looks to have a good colour variation to it, I think that is a good sized mat. The mat can be used flat or undulated, but I think it would be difficult to show a dome with it. Phoenix Model have marketed this as suitable for the following scales 1:24/1:32/1:35/1:48, but I feel 1/48th scale does not look quite right. Nothing is mentioned about cutting the material, but I see no reason that this could not easily be done.
