After releasing the figure in 1/35 scale, ANT Miniatures just announced the Assault Trooper is available in large scale as well.
120-707 - Assault Trooper

The figure has been designed by Peter Samofalov and produced using rapid prototyping technology. The 1/35 scale version of the figure is already available from ANT and has been reviewed on Armorama (link), but the 1/16 scale version looks even more impressive and is bound to be warmly received by the modeling community.

Ordered; at 59Euro, plus postage, this is at the top end in terms of price, but look at that figure! I'm now hoping that this arrives in time for Christmas...

I've been waiting for this figure. Glad it has finally released. It's really neat that the looks of some 1/35 and 1/16 modern military figures have caught up to present times.

Looks great, but never seen a Captain humping a heavy weapon like that before.

This arrived a couple of days ago, but I have only just now made it to the post office to collect. And I can say, without qualification, having purchased this myself, that is is absolutely the best figure I have seen in this scale. Without doubt. Flawless. Everything I wanted, right there, and in time for Christmas, too. Thank you Ant Miniatures. It arrived wrapped in bubble wrap, within a plastic bag, and as such, the thin cardboard box around the figure was somewhat battered. But so far, the figure itself is undamaged after a quick scan. Please do more. Kylie

A quick review of the figure, now that I’ve had a chance to sit down and savour it a bit: The torso, ammo pack, and small bag are all printed hollow, with the back cavity bevelled at the edges to mount the ammo pack. Nice touch. The head, arms, torso and boots all have raised blocks to facilitate alignment. Again, nice touch. Detail is everywhere on this thing. Amazing. The helmets are both almost scale thickness, and perfect. Down side is that the pistol grip of the machine gun is incorporated to the right hand, and is present on the mg itself. No biggie, just means that you have to cut into that gorgeous mg. Also, there are no instructions, ergo no parts break down, description, or assembly guide. So, you don’t know whether you have everything, or what you do have. But then, if you’ve purchased this, most likely you don’t need it. I intend on printing the images from Ant Miniatures to use as a guide. Two pieces had broken off of the carrier, a white light torch, and the suppressor. Neither was damaged as a result. The suppressor is not hollow, so again, you need to cut the end off of the mg to fit, thus there may be alignment problems. No man wants a droopy suppressor. Would I buy this again knowing this? Yep, absolutely. kylie the challenge now is to paint this to the same level of quality...

Kylie, the figure uses the same piece layout as its smaller 1/35 scale counterpart. The assembly was a bit tricky in the smaller scale, but I'm sure the larger scale would make it easier... not to mention all the fine details which should be more visible in 1/16. There are no instructions and some time should be taken to study where all the equipment goes. Perhaps you could use my 1/35 scale figure assembly as a guide: link. Enjoy the figure and keep us posted on the progress. Mario
