at last blast-models dedicated 1/35th. figures to the african soldiers.

Great! Blast is releasing some awesome figure and accessory sets for French operations in areas such as Mali. Already have their first AMX-10 crew and will be picking up these civilians and some vehicle accessories soon. Hope we see some more African civilians, including women, pick up truck drivers, roadside vendors, child soldiers, etc.

It certainly would be nice to see more modern African figures- some military ones as well as civilians. These new releases look awesome.

Very strange... It looks astonishingly close to the black légionnaire in the old academy kit dedicated to the french legion. Looks like almost a copy cat........ Julien

Maybe the sculpt was based on the same artwork? Can you post the photo of the Academy set you are reffering to? Mario

Similar, but I don't think it's an intended copy.. A lot of times, sculptors do their work based on the same reference material, and you see figures by one sculptor that remind you of the work of another Hisham
