Considering it's strategic importance, the war in North Africa still remains largely 'untapped' as a subject area for modellers. Partly, this is due to a lack of suitable figures from the plastic manufacturers, partly due to a lack of good reference material. This new book from Concord Publications may help somewhat:
6521 Axis Forces in North Africa 1940-43 is a newly-announced book from Concord. The book, in their popular 'Warriors' series, consists of 52 pages, 44 color plates, 101 b/w photos the book is written by Claudio Antonucci. For those who require it, it cariies the ISBN 962-361-130-7.

It does seem like a slightly different direction for books of this type. Concord have, in my opinion, been spending a slightly excessive amount of time recently on the Late-War period while not covering equally interesting and less well-covered theaters of war. Figure modellers will particularly welcome the quantity of color plates and the sample pages presented (on the right of this page) should give a good idea of what to expect.

As usual, we'll be publishing a FULL review of this book in the coming weeks.

The artwork looks a little imaginative - the Commonwealth soldier in Plate O2 is surely based on a picture of a Chindit! The Superga Private in Plate H2 looks very much like an illustration of an Italian private in Greece from an old Blandford book (IIRC one with a Chindit like the one above coincidentally), with a bit of foliage added.
