I don't care much for the tanker's face, he looks like a caricature rather than something that I'd add to one of my dios. The other two are okay.

Yeah I tend to agree. Never really liked his sculpting very caricature like. The face on the Brit tanker is quite odd. Just my opinion of course.

Hi, Mario! Thanks for the "Heads Up!!! Frank, and Scott: I don't think the British "Tanker"'s face looks like a "caricature" at all. Not everyone's face on the planet Earth looks like a "Hollywood" Actor's. IMO, I think that I'd much rather have this guy than ANY of those "idealized" German SS Panzer Crewmen, with their "perfectly chiseled matinee idol" faces, and their "mesomorphic" bodies. In fact, I AM HEARTILY SICK of seeing the seemingly endless lines of THOSE guys... What's more, I think that this "Tanker" doesn't necessarily need to be posed on, or near a Tank. He could just as well be posed alongside or standing in any number of British Soft-skins, as well. I can readily imagine this guy in or near a British Eighth Army Bren Carrier quite easily... This "Tanker" is posed in a VERY convincing natural and casual pose, lending himself to any "non-fighting" scenario. The ONLY alteration that I would possibly make to this Figure, is that I would re-sculpt his hair a bit, in order to conform to a "WWII-style haircut"... SIGN ME UP!!! As for the other two Figures, I'd buy them in a flash, too!

Whatever your views on the face, there are a few other issues for me. The long strap RAC holster lacks a leg strap that prevented it from flapping around. In any case it limits you to fairly early in the war as it was found to catch on onscructions and most were shortened later. The things above the boots are supposed to be either puttees or gaiters but don't really resemble either. They are too thick to be the former (which were fabric strips, so would project much less and were secured by tapes) and lack the shaped lower edge (and I can't see any straps) of the latter. That lanyard looks rather long too.

Our British tankie is quite literally keeping a "stiff upper lip." His upper lip is too long for the facial expression he is making. When the cheeks are drawn up like in a grin, the upper lip compresses and foreshortens. One could make a face like his, but it's not typical. The muscles in the face just don't work that way. I have done a lot of digital work to create facial expressions doing webcomics. The gaiters are not the canvas type but some commonwealth forces had cloth gaiters that were similar? The book Armed Forces of World war 2 shows an Australian wearing similar. It really looks like the sculptor conflated features of the wraps and gaiters.

I think that some of you might have misunderstood my reservations; the pose is acceptable, the gear, perhaps questionable, but his face is to laugh. This is eactly why Hornet makes replacement heads that aren't "nordic perfect". Character in a face or expression is great and adds so much, but this guy is just weird.

Hi, i like so much this figure....in fact i ordered a pair from Attila the owner of Hunikum.......!!! I have the other british soldier too of this firm and it is really fine for me......and the sherman crew too is really fine (similar to body style...) i found the new british soldier really interestinf for subject, period and pose...i like his green short pullover too and the helmet pose on his head....about face....as same other wrote....is this the behaviour that Hornet heads are so popular ( becouse they are sculpted from Roger in incredible fine way.....whit increadible poses for every thougt ,too!!!) I hope that after the first two....HUNIKUM will realize other british desert soldiers , eventually at rest, sits on the floor , with the classic cup of tea ......that could increase the number of british desert soldiiers on market!!!!!
