I like this sculpt...except for the tailoring of the jacket. I feel that there should be more of a diagonal cut to the front edge. But overall it is a really sharp figure.

If the jacket had the diagonal cut to the front edge that you had wanted it would have made the figure into an Untersturmfuhrer, or possibly an Obersturmfuhrer in a corresponding Waffen-SS Panzer Division. So, not this time.

Everything i have read and the pictures I have seen show the Herman Goring tank crews wearing the same double-breasted jacket that the army (Heer) panzer troops would wear. Don't get me wrong. I like the sculpt. But the Jacket looks more like a fliegerblouse than the Heer panzer jacket.

So you are saying the bottom looks too long? Because the cut and pattern of the jacket matches the panzer wraps I have seen. This guy is skinny(that's why the pistol belt hangs on him? He ran out of holes?) The jacket does look a size oe two too big on him. He could also be short, so a normal panzer wrap would look long on him.

The Panzer jacket on the figure is modeled after SS version.

Actually, I am saying there should be more lapel flap wrapping across his chest. This figure, straight on, has the split of the jacket in the front in line with his tie. The flap coming across the chest from left to right should end in a diagonal line from below the eagle on the chest down to several inches below the belt. Alternatively, even if it is patterned after an SS wrap, it should still wrap further across the chest vice stopping straight under the tie. It doesn't look double breasted, but I guess it could be a private purchase tailored item. it is still a striking figure.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I understood that the quick 'n easy way to differentiate Wehrmacht from Waffen-SS panzer tunics was that the Waffen-SS tunic front closure was more diagonally cut while the army's version was as pictured. Now that I've typed this out I've got to go check...

Its an awesome figure, and lets remember that its an officer in the Luftwaffe and his uniform was most likely custom tailored. If this is like the Fallschirmjaer figure in this series, its taken from a photo.
