Scammell Pioneer SV/2S Recovery Tractor

Thunder Model has announced its rendition of the vehicle, due to be released this spring.

The Scammell Pioneer was a British 6x4 tractor unit used in the Second World War as an artillery tractor, recovery vehicle and tank transporter. The SV/2S variant had a simpler redesigned extending crane that provided greater lifting height. A total of 1,975 units were built by the end of the war.

Thunder Model’s kit is a product of multi-slide mould technology that will contain over 450 plastic parts. Fine details include a crane and winch assembly, chassis and engine, cab and its interior, all based on factory drawing and measurements. Watch this space for further developments.

Hhhmmm, IBG is improving, But are still sparse on detail and somewhat soft in the moulding. The Thunder Case VAI is a very sharp little model. I will wait for Thunder model. But great to have these options. There are so many British soft skins and armour still to be kitten, Some coordination between these 2 would seem like a great idea...

"we have a couple of British guns in progress, but they will show up later after the tractor release" Was the Thunder Model answer on their Facebook account to my question if the arti tractor would see a gun in the future! Start saving money, guys! Any advice how to inform my better half that I found an alternative for the summer holidays money?

So, if the announcement about a related British gun comes true, that must, hopefully, be the starting moment to release dedicated crews for both Africa/the southern Italy campaign and the winter/spring 44/45 war's end. Not to speak about ammo, boxes, fuses etc.

Hi guys, I noticed on their website they will also be selling the tractor unit of the tank transporter as a seperate kit.Great news if you want to build a post war civvy heavy hauler....FANTASTIC
