Black Lion Decals is a new company, based in the Netherlands, started by three Dutch Modelers: Michel Boer, Jan Giesbers and Antal Giesbers.
Their aim is to produce decals for those models that lack them.
They say their favourites are the rare, weird and exotic ones and no matter the subject, no matter the scale; if you want that unique one-off decal for your model only, then they’ll design and print it for you!
N.B. the accompanying illustrations are scans only,
compressed for quicker loading into your internet browser from the Black Lion Decals website, and therefore might not fully represent the sharpness of the actual decals.

Custom Decals

Black Lion will do any scale, any model (vehicles, planes, trains, ships, figures, etc.) and any subject or period in history.
The only limits they have are the final size of the decal (20 x 25 cm) because of the printer and paper size, and they don't do swastikas for personal reasons. For anything else, from ancient Greek shield prints in 1/16 up to
present day Iraqi road signs in 1/144, they are open to suggestions.

Cool! I have the Kora kit of the Dutch DAF M-39. Those M-38 decals are just what I need and thought I'd never see. I couldn't even find references, much less a decal set.

Can anyone say if the decals are better in real life than on the photos? They appear heavily pixelated and colours seems to be made of small spots of different colours... Thanks for your feedback. Cheers, Christophe

Just a quick note... There is apparently a typo on the sheet named "Liberation of Prague, May 1945, Czech insurgent's Hetzer". The last letter in "Strasnica" should be "e" not "a". Also note that the markings and painting of those captured Hetzers had change very often during the uprising. The general agreement is that at the beginning they sported national flag flags only (maybe also "CSR" - abbr. for Czechoslovak Republic). Any other paintings were added later as a reflection of the combat actions, may of them at the very end of the uprising or even after the liberation. I'm also not 100% sure about Vlasov's Army (ROA) markings for the same period, but I can't recall the details now and I don't have references handy.

For the minority on dial up with a 14.6K modem? I will follow your suggestion and ask for a sample. Cheers, Christophe
