How about some decals for the oil and grease can? And, advertised for 60-to 70s, but the plastic water cans were relatively hard to locate, and metal jerry-can style with flip-lid was the norm.

Not sure about that. Judging from photos plastic water jerry-cans were already quite common in Vietnam (at least later in the war).
