Wow,thats a great looking set

I don't often build German stuff these days, but these figs are tempting me to dig out the JP4 from my stash! My only quibble is the way so many fig sets seem to be middle-aged men, when we know the bulk of German forces late-war were young boys rushed through training to replace all the old hands that were being lost to Allied advances. Still, at 1:35 it isn't too big a deal...

I really like this set, and to add something to Digger's comment: actually towards the end anyone with a pulse found themselves in uniform in a vain attempt at holding back the tide. One of my uncles told me of the time that he shared a barricade in Eastern Germany near the end manned by teenage HJ hot to embrace glory. Most died pointlessly. The point is that while the crew might represent middle-aged men a lot of veterans will tell you that nothing ages you like continuous combat. Those "middle aged" soldiers might be in their late twenties for all that anyone would know. Point is I like the set.

Sorry but I can not agree. The German Army still had a good number of veteran soldiers to fight until the end of the war, and in any case not only young boys were called: also old men, specialized workers that had been more useful at factories until then, soldiers discharged from service for injuries and called back again... Search "german surrender" on youtube, you will find young soldiers among the troop,but not only them, not even the majority in my opinion.
