Fine Molds have quietly released a 1/35 scale set of WW2 US Marines.
The set, FNM36015 1/35 WWII US Marine Corps, consists of 4 figures in action poses.

Oddly, all you get in the kit are the figures - no equipment or weapons are supplied although this shouldn't be a problem for many Allied Figure modelers with full spares boxes.

Price, according to HLJ, is 1000 yen -$9.82 USD; €6.40 Euros.

IMHO...really an uninspiring set... The Marine on the left looks to have a cargo pocket on his trousers and the officer looks more like he has a Jungle Jacket on than WWII Utilities!!! The poses look stiff and I am hard pressed to see how they would fit into a diorama without radical repositioning. The antithesis of the GEN 2 figures... One man's opinion.... S/F Pat

I concur - in fact, they're almost as bad as (and very similar to) a set of US Marines that Hasegawa brought out in the early to mid nineties. The Hasegawa set were also bereft of weapons and field gear - truly horrible. There are a couple of similar poses in both sets which leads me to wonder if this is really a 'new' set after all. Disappointing. acav out

Don't think this will be sending shockwaves through the figure modelling industry.... In a word, terrible. Like something from the 70's. Wooden, lacking animation and the fact they don't supply weapons and equipment is downright strange. i nearly purchased some of this company's German soldiers and tank crew figures off of ebay but they were expensive for 4 figures and from the small image I could see looked lacking in detail. This confirms my suspicions and I'm glad I left well alone. Not in the same league as Masterbox, Miniart, Tristar or Dragon. Alan
