MiniArt Ltd. have just announced their latest figure set
35055 - Soviet Soldiers Riders is a five-figure, injection-moulded set. The New set is a useful subject covering a popular area (particularly in view of all the good Soviet armor kits we've been getting) - Soviet Tank Riders. The figures are early-war (no, they DON'T have shoulderboards)...

Hi I'd just like to add that not only are Miniarts latest figure releases well moulded but you'll note that as with all of their sets you get five figures for your money compared to Dragon and Masterboxes usual four figures, which represents even better value for money. Alan

Well that explains it. Thanks. So, from your links, these are clearly pre-1943 uniforms, not 1943-45 uniforms like MiniArt says they are. Still very useful. Jim

To be fair to Miniart I don't think they actually mention on the kit or anywhere else the time period in which these figures are supposed to represent, just Soviet Soldier Riders is their description. I think it's Jim who's put the timeframe in his description of the release. Alan

right. This early uniform is also featured in the MB sets featuirng germans and soviets in hand to hand combat. It will go well with an early t-34

Nope, my bad... I was seeing shoulderboards where no shoulderboards existed. God only knows why... Sorry!

This set is very successfull to my mind.I painted those figures (on Miniart photos) and get real satisfaction. Think it`ll be good for early T-34 too,may be with bit conversion (position of hands etc). About uniform-you can make so named "field" pattern, especially widelyspread during summer 1943,when solders put new shoulder epaulets(for example use new ABER photoetched set) on old pattern shirt (of course, delete old patch from collar). This is a very nice looking set with some good poses that will probably come in very handy. Kudos for Miniart for bringing these out. I hope they sell a million of them. -YL
