Hello If you have the Concord book about styker, you'll find 1/35 drawings. Using it and a Vodnik thread on ML forum i noticed too that: Trumpeter's match drawings for width but is way too short. The hull top is too wide. AFV's hull is way too narrow but hull top is OK. The lengh is nearly good. The parts are finer on this kit , and when done it looks more a styker. For a more accurate stryker the best way is to cut in lengh the AFV low hull, to rebuild all inclined sides and enlarge all chassis components. Too much work for me and for 99.9 modellers. This said, It will be hard to use trumpeter's slat with AFV's kit. Stephane

I mentioned in another thread that I would wait for the AFV kit and here it is. Didn't have to wait long either as I haven't even finished the current project and start on the next one while waiting for this one. Two penny moment... I think that it would be a challenge for any company to produce a plastic cage for the Stryker. I believe that with today's technology it can be done. It might need that little bit of tweeking by nut and bolt crowd but would work fine for builders too. The only problem with it being a stand alone kit is that there are probably differences between Stryker types and a generic one size fits all kit may not be the answer but it would be a good start. Time will tell if one of kit manufacterers will do one.

Mmmmmmmm...I think I need a cigarette!! I just started the MGS Stryker last night. I've got two Trumpeter Strykers and two AFV Club Strykers. I can't wait to get my grubby little mits on that puppy!!

I don't think it should be such an issue. Like the PE sets currently on offer it would have to be specific to the brand due to the differences in sizes between AFV & Trumpeter, but AFAIK the real-world slat is the same on all versions except the 1128 MGS and the Medical version has a bit extra added on top for the raised rof-line. At leaset thats' my 2c worth, but as they're €c probably worth less...

Between AFV & Trumpeter we are spoilt for choise on vehicles such as the Stryker etc. What i note is that there seems to be a lot of resin & etched sets available to upgrade these kits to another level of detail (e.g.resin wheels, slat amour,tie down straps,crew protection sheilds, vehicle/crew gear ans storage). The only problem is that the price of these detail sets are in some cases £30-£40, add this to the cost of the model and its getting very expsnsive.Could the plastic manufactures not include some of these details in the kit.Its not that long ago that you didn't get etch detail sets in the box now its seen as part of the kit. Amen! I'd LOVE to see slat armor in plastic for the Stryker. I'm definitely not looking forward to doing all that PE work.

Isn't it funny, how every Army Stryker you see has that cage armor, yet the USMC LAVs in Afghanistan don't seem to have it. @Cookie: I agree, at the very least, they could throw in a spare tire, how much would that add to the cost of the kit anyway, to give us nine tires, instead of eight?
