MiniArt Ltd have just sent us an Update or what is arguably one of their most-awaited sets for Allied modelers - a set of Late-War British AFV Crewmen in cold weather gear.
The New set will be:
35121 - BRITISH TANK CREW. WINTER UNIFORM
The new set (1/35th scale, Injection-moulded Stryrene) will consist of five figures.
Now, this set HAS been announced previously. What though IS New are the images showing that the set is very advanced, suggesting that the release could be pretty soon...
Now, preaching to the choir a bit, the significance of this set can't really be understated. The resin manufacturers have done a number of absolutely superb figures of AFV Crews in the 'Pixie Suit' up until now, despite it's wide-spread use, it hasn't figured much (at all?) in styrene.
Also, rather than presenting the suit in it's usual form, the sculptor has made an effort to add the 'variations' such as the widely-used jerkin or the suit completely buttoned-up to the neck.
The set is specifically designed for Late-War British/Commonwealth AFV Crews, however the possibilities go much further. The 'Pixie Suit' could be seen in service right up to the 1960/70s allowing this set to be used for a large variety of settings such as B.A.O.R. or the Korean War.
Our thanks to MiniArt Ltd for this VERY welcome Update!
