Introduction

Buckets are one of the few items that are universal for any theme and time period, for both armor modellers and diorama fans. My previous experiences were with styrene and resin buckets, which do not have realistic-to-scale thickness and their bails are usually unsightly, so I was really happy to see this set from E.T. Model in one of the Hong Kong online shops. After it arrived I decided to try it straight away for my current project.

The set comes in a package common for most PE companies – a plastic bag with a stapled header. Inside you will find two identical PE frets attached with a tape to a piece of cardboard backer, as well as a green sheet of instructions.

Each PE fret includes 4 buckets, 4 flat bottoms and 4 bails. So in total you get 8 buckets of 3 different sizes. Quality of brass is very good and the assembly is straightforward and relatively quick. Roll the bucket cone and solder (glue) it. If you don’t solder I would recommend annealing the cone before rolling. After the cone is done - attach the bottom (it has a location groove inside the cone). Finally - insert the bail and proceed with primingpainting.

Conclusion

E.T. model is trying to find subjects not covered by other manufacturers and this set is not an exception. A bucket with realistic thickness will definitely add detail to your model or diorama.
