Started making Airfix kits at a very early age under the guidance of my granfather who'd been an engine fitter in the RAF during the war. Joined the RAF myself in 1980 and spent 6 years as an airframe/engine tech on Tornado GR1s. Stopped modelling pretty much during my time in the airforce but got back into it once I'd settled. Seemed to spend more time painting the crew figures than the model and have pretty much concentrated on figure painting for the last 16 years. Still do the odd aircraft or AFV for the fun of it.
