The Dragon Expo 2006 event was held at the Anaheim Convention Centre, California. The show included trade booths, talks from VIP guests, prototypes and new kits, and various seminars from VIP guests including Tom Cockle, Gary Edmundson and Ron Volstad.
The show was to be held on three days, from the 23rd to the 25th of June, with something happening everyday, Rhodes Williams of the T-Factory had also organized a contest for modellers, with over 15 major prizes, details to follow. Jim Starkweather and I had been invited to the show, accompanied for light relief by Charles Reading!
As you enter the show floor, you are immediately hit by the sheer size of the event, everything being in one huge hall of the convention Centre. In the middle of the floor were all the vendors that had attended the show, including names such as Brookhurst Hobbies, Cyber Hobby, Dragon-USA ON line, Great Models Webstore, Mission Models and Pegasus Hobbies, plus many others. Toward the rear the manufacturers stands had been set up and included, of course Dragon, Italeri, Hasagawa, Tamiya and Zvesda.

Although one of Dragon's VIP visitors couldn't attend due to medical advice (Oscar Boesch), his 'exclusives' were still available at the show, including his 1/6th action figure and die-cast 1/72nd FW 190 A-8, plus of course, a 1/48th plastic kit of the same.
Nino Arena (Italian Paratrooper) and Fred K.Trieber (Gebirgsjager Veteran) did still attend and gave interesting talks, plus of course were available to sign all the show specials that were available at the show!
The guest seminars were held by Tom Cockle (The Art Of Zimmerit), Gary Edmundson (Preparing for Publication), and Ron Volstad (Getting Those Details Right!) in a curtained-off portion of the show floor.
