Thanks for the comments,..... this is about five years worth of modeling, and as you can see, some of it looks pretty dated. Over the last couple of years, I have tried to tone down the dry-brushing and have made efforts to soften the pre-shading and post-shading, I continue to try out new techniques, some with success and some without. I recently destroyed a Dragon T34 with some oil paint filtering that attacked the underlying acrylic paint..... live and learn.... I'd like to take this opportunity to openly thank the managing staff here at Armorama. I became aware of the site about a year ago, at a time in which my interest in the hobby was waivering. This site and all it has to offer has been a great source of motivation, thank you all. Frank PS. My apologies for the quality of the photographs, I sent Vinnie a set of photos that where way too dark, and in the process of trying to salvage the photos, some lightening needed to be done which seems to have bleached out the colours.

I love your subdued weathering. I have been inspired by photos of your work posted in the past. I also love the variety of subjects. Your interests are well rounded. A good mix of WWII and Modern perios represented. Thanks for sharing. Smoke

Exactly what l was thinking of writing. In days where over weathering and over chipping is the norm (not that its bad) its nice to see some cleaner finishes as well. Its great to see that your interest hasn´t waivered, and hopefully you can add to this rather fine display!

This is what I try to do with my armors too. I find myself weathering less and less, especially on the highlighting. To some may seem more stylized, but the subtle weathering actually makes the model more stremelined and cleaner details. Excessive chipping, rain streak, and grime actually make the model "dirty" im my opinion. Frank, I've find myself coming back and study your work from time to time. I have a question. Do you use dark color to highlight the model? I would appreciated if you can let me know. Oh yeah, ever thought of painting figures? Keep up the great work! WC

Hi Benjamin, I always start out with black paint as my primer, and then build up the colour of choice using preshading until satisfied. Have a look at the gallery photos of my KV-8 or the 48th Hetzer, that might help. As far as figures,.... heck no, I'm scared to death of figure painting, I'm quite envious of modellers that are both talented at model building and figure painting... Frank

Hi Gunny, Yes, I've been using tube water paint diluted with tap water for a long time now. As you have mentioned in the past, it is very forgiving and as long as you do not seal the paint with a protective coating (flat coat) , can be taken off at any time. It must be applied on matt paint for the water colours to adhere to the painted surface. Frank
