Very nice wearthering job. Kind of makes you think this is a "what if" type of Mutt. Had the Humvee been a few years later then 1989 or never came to fruition at all, this is what our Mutts would have looked in the Deserts of Saudi Arabia in 1990 and 1991. Were there some small supply units in the rear in Saudi Arabia that may have used the Mutts or was it strictly left to Humvees and Chevrolet trucks?

A Ma Deuce on an M151 is uncommon but it has been done. Here's a basic one And a so-called "Super Jeep" However, the condition of the truck looks way too beat to still be in service with a .50 cal sitting up there.

Very nice work Michael. The only thing that looks rather odd to me is the windshield. With the condition of the vehicle I would expect to see a few cracks, chips and more wear on the glass. great job though... Kevin

Superbly weathered indeed! One small nit pick from me though: lightening holes in wheels could use few drops of black paint to make them look hollow. Cheers Greg

Thanks guys. It is a "what-if project which will be used on a dio later. I really had no clue about the gun-type. I just wanted something better/bigger/meaner looking than what the kit had supplied. I like the pics of the super jeep though. I plan on fixing the windshield at a later date by adding some dust and wiper streaks when I do the dio. My images look like they've been resized up though and as such they seem to have lost their clarity. There's more/better images here: http://fichtenfoo.com/

Excellent little Mutt, love the weathering. I have to tell you I really enjoy the missing headlight, give it a bit of character, like an old solider missing an eye. One of the Infantry units I belonged with, our TOW section had a Mutt with a .50 mounted on her. The Mortar section Mutt’s had 60s’ Joe

You are correct, not with the standard pintle mount anyways. The floor plates and weld seams around the pintle would crack and shake apart. As you can see in the USMC FAV photo, it has been beefed up quite a bit. I am willing to bet the Egyptian M151A1 was as well. He is building it as a sci-fi, what-if project, therefore it can look as beet up as he wants. I have seen some pretty bad looking ones though, right before they were retired. Also, some used in third world countries can be left to get pretty bad before they are usually disposed of. Their maintenance programs aren't as good as some others around.
