Is it any particular brand? Ive seen some small-linked chains, but never this small.
I used etched chain on my panther, and in reality, unless you look really close, its almost impossible to see the links. It seems kinda pointless adding details that are not visible, and Id rather go overscale a little. These chains you´ve used would be perfect!

Hi Frank, yep..........they're the finest I've ever seen too. I looked around for ages before I found some I was happy with. You can get them from Stuart at SB Models. Just ask him for his 'Extra Fine Chain' , #35141. One packet is £2, and you get around 8 inches.

Cheers Vinnie.
Nicely priced as well .... will be looking into this, A.S.A.P.
I can believe that .... first thing I noticed, when I looked at your model. They really do look the part.

Vinny,
I think this is one of the first builds I have commented on. The Panther just exudes realism, and those chains are the royal icing on the winter whitewash cake. Having looked at SB's site, I can't find a link to the chains. The Panther reminds me of a shot in a book I have on the 5. SS Pz. Div. where an officer is ducking under a shot up late A for cover.
On another matter entirely. When I was back at me ma's for xmas, I had a look for Model World, which stood on Seel Street before the big dig started. Do you know if it gave up and died or relocated? Modelzone had a few decent bits and bobs, but nothing like the selection of paints that Model World had. Would also be interesting to know which secondary you taught at, because for 6 years before I escaped to Germany, I taught Science at De Le Salle in Croxteth. Best wishes on the the change of career, you jammy get!

Thanks Martin. The Seel street shop did indeed give up the ghost. It didn't last in that location for more than a few months sadly. The Modelzone has improved though it still has a long way to go. I taught at Shorefields for 11 years.......and I am REALLY happy to be out of it. To tell the truth, I don't know many teachers that aren't trying to get out of teaching! :-)

Our paths must have crossed at some point, especially during inset days and the like. Shame to see another shop bite the dust, although the owner's customer service left a lot to be desired. 11 years at Shorefields is enough to drive anyone to Panzers, except the life size ones.

Greetings: Again Vinnie, I want to thank you for answering my query regarding photo etched chain. Lastly, where did you purchase the small chain/s? Kind REgards, Brian
