The Universal Carrier – Life in the Old Dog Yet!

Vehicle 3 & 4

The third and fourth example are two Deep Wading Carriers constructed from the basic model and the Resicast Deep Wading Set one from the older set and the second from the newer and the much more user friendly kit. The new set includes the alternative suspension units for that nose up effect often seen on the carriers.

(87) was built with the older Resicast conversion set and those who followed the build will know that I made an error on the rear panel which I am pleased to say I was able to fix without wrecking the whole build. It represent a vehicle from the Headquarters and Defense Platoon, 8th Canadian Infantry Brigade, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division.

The second Carrier (62) was built using the new Resicast set and my thanks to Graham from Resicast for that and to Rick aka the Bear for the correct Divisional signs that made the build possible. It represents a vehicle from The North Shore (New Brusnwick) Regiment, 8th Canadian Infantry Brigade, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division.

The figures are Tamiya and Dragon re-worked with some Hornet and/or Ultracast heads and extra kit.

Nice work Alan, very nice! It would be interesting to see a dio or vignette with one of those deep wading variants in action

Thanks Alan for this feature. I like the Resicast carrier conversions very much, especially the deep wading conversion. Your feature provides good information about the different conversions. And of course nicely build.
