Sweet Dreams

This is my newest diorama, titled “Sweet Dreams”.

The 101st Airborne figures are from Nemrod. I replaced all of their heads with Hornet head sets, added chin straps to their helmets, and gave them rifle slings. The sleeping Germans are from Warriors and Royal Model. The one from Royal Model (sleeping in the sidecar) needed some work to get him to fit into the sidecar and I gave him a new Hornet head.

The motorcycle and sidecar kit is from Lion Roar. The house is a MiniArt kit which I cut to make it fit the scene. The tree is made from twisted wire, Milliput, and branches from Joefix Studio’s.

Thanks for looking,

Bart Campbell

A very realistic Dio you have there. True to life. Figures look great! Where did you get the Screaming Eagles patches?

Great work Bart

Great paint work and even better composition! Very original use of the sleeping figures. If anyone would have told me that figure sets in tense shooting poses and sleeping poses could have been put in one diorama I wouldn't have believed them. Well done!

thanks for the comments. Noli, the patches are hand painted. Bart

Hey Bart. This is fantastic craftsmanship. Everything I like in a dio. The painting on your bird house makes it a jewel for the eyes. Great painting like the very suitle stains from the trim on the building. The grass is great, what did you use for it?
DEC 30, 2010 - 09:02 AM
Thanks for the comment The grass is a grass matt from Noch. I removed the felt backing, stretched it out to look more natural and painted it. It was then glued on the already painted ground with white glue. Once it was dry I added some weeds and things. Bart

Hey Bart, Great composition and painting. My eye is drawn to the main characters but then it sweeps across each of the pictures to take in the little things you put in there. Great job. Bill

Very impressive piece ! Fantastic work. By the way what company do these figures come from and what is the name of the set, if it is a set?

Thanks for the comment. The Germans are from Warriors and Royal Model. All of the Paratroopers are from Nemrod. Most of the figures were reworked/converted a little and received Hornet heads. Again, Thanks Bart
