  • move

The WC59 was a signals truck, designed to install and repair telephone lines. Based on the same chassis as the WC54, but with a wheelbase increased by 50 cm.

The spare wheel was carried behind the seats, with a step ladder fitted to where the spare wheel would have been. The bed was known by the Signal Corps as the K-50 truck, and was fitted to both Dodge and Chevrolet chassis.... 549 of the WC59 were built.

About Delbert (Delbert)

That would be an awesome vehicle to build from scratch. Simple lines and structure, to build, yet very interesting in over all presentation. Would look great in a diorama.

Any info on the cloth top sometimes present over the driver and co-driver?

No, I found a photo of the cloth top. looks pretty much like the cloth top found on other Dodge WC's, on the WC-59, there appears to be some kind of frame attached to the bed to hold the back of it. Delbert
