Yes, it was pretty much on its last leg in the M60A1 version you have modeled. Only the USMC still had the A1 and most were swapped out for US Army hand me down M60A3 TTSS (Tank Thermal Sight System, some though tthey were still better than 1st gen M1s) when the Army swapped them out for M1A1s. Also, a BDE of Army M1A1s was sent to augment the USMC as well. I don't think any of the A1s saw combat in ODS.
The model looks great by the way. The gear and weathering are right on. Good job.

Nice model. The stowage adds a lot to the finished model. Together with the figures they give it life

Hey Gino: Did they put the RISE package on the A3 TTSS?

Gino like Mike will say (He likes to be throw stuff at the wall to see what will stick) We want through this back in 2005 and at the time when you tried to tell me the Mariner’s didn’t have or use M60A3’s and we learned they had eleven M60A3 that they picked up from the Army after they receive M1A1. I don’t think the changed over eleven tanks will represent all the tanks the Mariner’s had at time, and you may have a hard time convincing Mike that he didn’t go to combat in a M60A1 but you my throw that at the wall and see if it sticks.

Thanks All for the kind words.. Did not know this was up and just found it after a few days of vacation, so please forgive my late replies. I do not have a build log up.. I have never done one of those actually, might have to give it a try one day. As far as the dust on the visors, they are really one of those "happy accidents" I did not have a lens for them I painted the back blue and covered it with elmers glue to give it a clear gloss look, it came out with the dusty look around the edges and I just went with it.
HeavyArty (Gino) you should recognise all the extra gear since most of it came from you on a trade for some Pershing parts.. thanks again!
