Here is the information from the board that is displayed with this vehicle at the Bovington Tank Museum.
The URUTU was designed and built from 1974 by the Engesa Company based at Sao Jose dos Campos in Brazil, and it is similar mechanically to the Engesa EE-9 Cascavel armoured car. it is powered by a six cylinder Detroit Diesel engine and an Allison automatic transmission. It is fully amphibious and at the rear you can see the two marine propellers behind the steering vanes.
In addition to the driver the URUTU can carry up to a dozen infantrymen with firing ports that can be used from inside the vehicle, and four roof hatches in the top. The basic URUTU was produced in a number of variants with the one seen here having the ET 20 one man turret mounting a 20mm Oerlikon cannon. Smoke dischargers are fitted to the turret sides.
These vehicles were a considerable export success in their day; mainly to third world countries, among them Iraq which acquired 150 vehicles of which this is one captured during the Gulf War. Engesa are no longer in the armoured vehicle business but some of the vehicles they produced are still in service with different countries around the world.

Very nice walkaround.
Just a note. I have worked for several years at ENGESA and this Urutu is equiped with the KPV 14,5mm Vladmirov machine gun instead of the mentioned Oerlikon 20mm.
This is the Engesa EE Vladmirov turret develloped to mount this russian weapon.
