M1117 Guardian
Being mostly a Wehrmacht armor guy, the chance to build something very different appealed to me. While researching the USMC Humvee, I came across references to the M1117 Guardian (ASV) as its "big brother" with more armor and a dedicated "let's fight!" mission. Something about its compact look inspired me, and I built it pretty much out-of-the-box. The only exceptions were DEF Model resin weighted wheels, some electrical cables for the radio masts and the turret searchlight made from small diameter wire, and guitar string for the radio masts themselves. A little paint, some washes and pigments and it was ready for duty.
The Dioramas Plus "Iraqi Street Scene" is also pretty much OOB: you get everything you need in the kit, including cabling for the rat's nest "improvised" Iraqi electrical grid. I had hoped to put a Marine "tuna boat" on the street, but the M1117 fit much better.

Nicely Done. The fuel staining is particularly well done.

Well done, Bill. Great weathering and light chipping without overdoing it.

Well this is a nice one
One observation if you don't mind Bill.
Middle eastern streets are usually not this clean, you will find at kind of litter and other debris laying around.
Did a fine job on this one !
Cheers

Thanks, Christopher, it's a work in progress, so I will def take you up on that suggestion. Coming up with authentic litter is the challenge, of course.
All the rest of you, thanks!
Figures I'm not sure about. The M1117 doesn't have an interior and there isn't an AM one, so it would seem odd having soldiers on the ground and the vehicle all shut up?

UPDATE: I added some photos of the Iraqi Street Scene building without the vehicle as requested.

Great job Bill,
Only I noticed a little mistake, the headlights are in the wrong position.
Sorry, maybe I'm mistaken.....
Like the scene..
