This 4.5 inch Gun M1 is located off US 421 between Osgood and Napoleon, Indiana, not far south of Interstate 74. It is a centerpiece of a C. E. Reinking Memorial Park.

Interesting: gun SN 1, carriage SN 1; the prototypes. The recoil mechanism is SN 557 though. They made 426 complete guns and 233 spare recoil mechanisms, so that is one of the spares.
I wish I had known of this last year. I was in that area checking out military equipment and have never seen a 4.5-inch gun.
