Great Pics Alan! I'll definitely be using these to help with my Resicast Jeep Conversion Sets.

Hi Patrick, I still have the Recce version to build along with the Med Jeep. I need more modelling hours lol. Most of these are probably reproductions/salvage jobs, I don't think many/any originals survived. The spec looks correct though and it's good to see how the kit fits onto and into the trucks. Great pictures , thanks Alan . Did you happen to notice how the ammo drums are held onto the side of the jeep ? Was there clips undernearh or are they glued on like my 70s Italeri Airbourne jeep model ?

Hi Jim, Sorry no is the answer there. However, if you look at the main pic behind the passenger seat on the RHS is a small bracket with a pin on it. Could this be the means they were affixed by? I can see the outline of something similar under the magazines that are mounted. I don't know whether the Lewis magazine had a small central opening or not, but if it did that might be one answer, other wise this could be a home made method for display purposes but either way they must have sat on some kind of clip or pin affair. Perhaps someone else knows or I can ask them next year. Cheers Al

From the pictures there seems to be a small post on the jeep with a cotter pin on the end to hold the drum secure . Hope they added a length of webbing to the pin as it would have been hard to pull and switch mags quickly under fire . I guess if there was a wire basket or other kind of bracket the guys who restored the jeep would have added it , right.
