Wittman Tiger1

  • move
This is the Cyber Hobby early tiger kit for Michael Wittman of LSSAH July 1943 Battle of Kursk order. The model was built with the addition of Voyager PE and Modelkasten tracks. Painted in Tamiya Acrylic and weathered with pigments and oils. I enjoyed taking the shots, practising with my new camera and tripod. Thought I would share them.

That is an exquisite model Ian. The finish is outstanding without calling too much attention to itself...very well balanced. The model looks very "realistic", particularly in one of the rear view photos.

Excellent build of Tiger! Anyway, as I refer to most well known image of sitting Wittmann on the center of his Tiger's barrell, you may repose the figure to look over somewhat at his right side, just like this: Nordfrankreich, Michael Wittmann auf Panzer VI (Tiger I) Sorry for my broken English and keep up the stunning work! Cheers, Garry

Well done, Ian!

About as good as it gets!! Well done sir!. Love the sag in the cables on the side of the vehicle as well as the tone of the camo spray job. Dull coat on Wittman's uniform? Not a complaint by any means, just a little too much reflection on the fabric. (I even hated to write it! LOL) I hope my skills approach yours some day....maybe in 30 years!

Thanks for your comments, I replaced the head of the MW figure with one from alpine, however the flat coat on his uniform seems to have gone off, to much mixing of acrylic base, oils and enamel flat I think!

Excellent Tiger and just the right amount of weathering. Good photos too. Thank you for sharing these great images. Gary
