I've been jonesing to build an M103 since I shot these pics in 2011 while on AT at Ft. Knox. Can't wait for the kit to finally arrive!

Excellent! I could have made use of those images a while ago. I am no expert on the subject but if I am correct, this is a standard M103. The M103A1 would have the gunners periscope fitted to the right of the turret roof in front of his hatch. I could find any surviving M103A1 on the net. They are either the initial M103 or 103A2. Did they move it? It was on Wilson road right where it takes that sharp curve. Used to be a Dog & Suds ( later A&W) there a bit further down was a KFC you went a couple of blocks more and it led to the access to HWY 31.

Steve, You may be correct. I was going from memory. I shot those pics while I had a spare few minutes during AT back in 2011, which has already been a lifetime ago. Jon

LOL My memeory was from when my dad and later I was stationed there. 1969 - 72 for him...1976 for me. I think I saw it in 85 when i was there running a CPX for the training division.

My son and I stopped by there on the way back from Wonderfest in Louisville this past Sunday (June 1) and it's still where Jon described. The old Dog 'n' Suds is about 100m to the northwest and the access to Hwy 31 is about 200m to the south. To the best of my recollection, that's where it was in 1966 when I was a kid and my Dad was stationed at Ft Knox. Chuck George
