Steffen Christmann shares with us some images of his diorama dedicated to a break through by US troops southwards from peninsula Cotentin August 1944 - Operation Cobra.
The ground troops were supported by one the greatest air armadas of WWII, that bombed their way free.
The StuG III / G is a Dragon "black knight" kit with Friul tracks, Tank burned-out wheels, ABER photo-etched parts, Verlinden engine and Atak zimmerit.
This vehicle belonged to 341.StuG.Abtg.and was produced 02/03.1944 by Alkett, still wearing the mid-production skrits.
The cover over the gun port is scratch built and was typical for Stug’s from 341 and some other units.
The M4A1 Sherman is a Tasca kit with Friul tracks and Blackdog baggage. It belonged to 2nd armored Division.
Figures are Dragon and Warriors; These camouflage-suits were only worn in that period of the War in Europe.
Ruins are scratch-built from Styrofoam; Some accessories are from Plusmodel."

Hallo Steffen,
I agree with Pawel regarding the large piles of rubble..!!! That's what it takes when we talk ruins!!
But the other elements of the dio are great too!! A lot of care in vehicles and figures alike!!
The dio also tells the story that this piece of France was badly mangled by bombings before US troops penetrated.
Well done indeed!!
Your horizons are already very wide...let's see if we are really able to help you!
Welcome to the forum Sir!
Cheers

Interesting scene with good composition and well built models. The burned out portion of the StuG is convincing. I really like the damaged zimmerit.
