US Army deuce and a half

Driver

The driver came from Verlinden. He is a generic mechanic figure that I swapped the head out with a Hornet offering. He is painted with acrylics and oils. Acrylics make up the base color of his uniform and the oils were used for the hi-lights and the shadows. His face was painted in acrylics as well, and a light wash of oils was used to bring out his facial features. Pretty basic, but he came out good enough for me. I added the cigarette smoke from a piece of cotton pulled off of a Q-tip

Base

This is about the simplest base I can think of. It came from the R/R section and is nothing more than the side of a tunnel entrance. I didn’t even have to paint it. I just trimmed off a little on one end, touched up the cut area with a small amount of paint and glued every thing on and it was ready to go in the case with the rest of my goodies.

Conclusion

While this kit isn’t the newest, most high tech one out there. I had a lot of fun trying new things during its construction. Yes it has its problems, but what kit doesn’t? This is modeling remember? Use those skills to make an average kit better, or a dog of a kit into something you’re proud of. I hope you enjoyed what I had to say in regards to my build.
