Thanks for the kind words! As to the MGs, I think of modeling to any scale as a compromise: the M-2 s in the kit were acceptable to me. (I maintained .50s in the army, and they are pretty clunky in real life). Updating everything in a kit Ithink is a slippery slope. You have to pick and choose your fights. At some point you build up to the compromise. That being said, I prefer to put more work into painting and finishing than building, but that's just personal preference.

And yes, the story is two GIs hamming it up in front of a camera. I saw a documentary on the military channel about film director John Huston, who was given a jeep and a crew, and brand new Ectachrome movie film, and went tear-assing around france filming. There were lots of shots of GIs lying around grinning at the camera.

I do get your point...a dio build is always a big deal...what to perfect, what to let slide? Always a compromise, yes. But that Academy .50, it's sticking right out of the top..it's the closest thing to your eye. And it's just a terrible representation, nothing on it is right. Doesn't ruin the dio of course...just annoys us OCD types.

Is Tasca even in business anymore? They've stopped producing their fantastic Sherman kits.

Thats a great looking build in my opinion, the figures mesh realy well with the vehicles, some people's figures look very cartoonish and it looks weird next to a realistic paintjob on a vehicle, but it doesnt look like you have that problem.
