Mark Wells shares with us some images of his diorama titled “One Sunny Day in Afghanistan“. This is a simple diorama set during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. A couple of Afghan fighters armed with an American stinger missile launcher have been caught out in the open and killed by a Russian T55 tank crew. A curious afghan boy and his donkey are warned off by the tank commander. Although a good kit, Tamiya's T55 required quite a bit of extra detailing to really reach its full potential. Modelkasten tracks replaced the vinyl set in the kit. Fuel lines were scratch built and Aber photo-etch was used fairly extensively to refine the detail. All figures are Verlinden.
