Panzer IV with zimmerit

  • move
Kevin Tong has shared with us some images of his Panzer IV with zimmerit. The model is a Dragon Models 135th scale Panzer IV with zimmerit. The ammunition is the CMK offering and the tracks are from Verlinden. Kevin did an extensive amount of interior scratch building with some parts taken from the Dragon Model Panzer IV ausf. D. The model was finished with Model Master paints - Dunkelgelb, Olivgrun and Burnt Sienna. This build took Kevin six months from start to finish, working on it almost every day!

Simply outstanding!! What would be really cool, is to put your Mark IV on a base that matches the photo and then show them side by side. Really fine work!!

Thanks for the supportive comments everyone. Pepsada - if you're referring to the last photo - that's a real tank! It was the specific vehicle I was modelling.

Kevin, Awesome work! I just bought the Dragon Panzer IV H Mid production with the side skirts. Your project has challenged me now to meet the high standards you have set! Where did you get the photo?

billflorig- The photo of panzer #521 was provided by Craig Ellis (who has written several books on the panzer IV) on the Missing Lynx website. There are two more photos of tanks from this same unit (Panzer Lehr) training in Hungary in March 1944, prior to deployment to France to meet the expected Allied invasion:

Namabiiru- Here is the photo that shows the bucket suspended from a small length of chain from the pipe-like structure protruding from below the muffler. The vehicle (an ausf. G) is from the Munster Panzermuseeum.
