The LAV is an armored scout car built by Komatsu for the Japanese Self-Defense Force (JSDF). Although most commonly used by the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF), the LAV is also used by the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) security forces. The vehicle featured here is in JASDF livery and is part of the Air Defense Command (ADC) Headquarters security detachment at Yokota Air Base, Japan.

Very interesting thanks! The interior photos are especially welcome. Plus it's a very different looking livery (air force, plain green).
Cheers,

Thanks! Some of the photos came out a bit dark, but I really wanted to highlight the oxidation of the paint caused by the sun and acidic rain, as well as the patterns caused by use wearing off the oxidized layer. Now if I can just capture that in my own weathering technique...

Thanks a bunch! I have the Tamiya kit on the shelf of doom because I couldn't find good interior shots. These are perfect!

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to spare to cozy up to the security guys to actually get inside, but I was in the middle of trying to move and had just enough time to do a walk-around photo shoot. But I'm glad someone is able to get some goodness out of them. I've got my own LAV to build as well, but still stumped on doing the decals.
